The contract pertains to a streamlined cost competition study focused on administrative support functions within the General Services Administration’s Northeast & Caribbean and New England Regions. Originally planned under solicitation number A-76-STUDY-CANCELLED and posted in April 2005, the study was intended to evaluate the cost-effectiveness of administrative support services as part of GSA operations. However, the scope of this study was directly impacted by a significant organizational restructuring involving the merger of the Federal Supply Service and the Federal Technology Service, which changed the administrative functions under review. As a result of this merger, GSA decided to postpone the study to ensure the evaluation accurately reflects the new administrative structure. The agency anticipates reissuing the study announcement during fiscal year 2006 once the merger is complete and the scope can be reassessed. The contract was managed by the General Services Administration office in New York, with Robert B. Woodside serving as the contracting officer. The focus on NAICS code 561110 indicates the emphasis on office administrative services within the federal supply framework.

Full Description

GSA Regions 1 and 2 will be part of a larger GSA reorganization plan that includes the merger of the Federal Supply Service (FSS)and the Federal Technology Service (FTS). This merger will directly impact the previously announced administrative support functions and those associates performing those functions, effectively changing the scope of this study. Accordingly, GSA will postpone the study until this planned merger is complete and the scope of the study can be re-assessed. GSA anticipates re-announcement sometime during FY 2006.
