Elastic bandage designed for securing wet or dry dressings in place on small to average-sized hands, wrists, and ankles, with a stretched length of 25,000 yards per unit, is subject to strict shelf life requirements: the product must have a 36-month shelf life from the date of manufacture, with no more than five months elapsed between manufacturing and delivery to the government. Labeling must include the date of manufacture, expiration or retest date, contract number, and lot number in accordance with Medical Marking Standard No. 1, which supersedes MIL-STD-129, and all packaging must meet DLA’s commercial packaging requirements. Each unit must be sealed in a protective container and packed in commercial shipping containers suitable for safe transit via common carriers at the lowest cost, with export packaging used when necessary. The item, identified by NSN 6510-01-088-8466 and quantity of 10 units, is governed by DLA’s Master List of Technical and Quality Requirements, and compliance with packaging and marking standards is mandatory.
