Barnard Brook at Woodstock Garden Bank Stabilization

Sustainable Woodstock is soliciting bids for the stabilization of the Barnard Brook bank at the Woodstock Community Garden in Woodstock, Vermont. The project aims to protect the riparian area and improve fish habitat through the installation of 34 rootwads over 172 linear feet at the toe of the slope, complemented by 1,204 linear feet of coir-reinforced soil lifts. Key work components include site access, ground surface protection, water diversion and control, solar and irrigation system relocation, and the application of imported fill and stone fill. All work must adhere to VTrans Specification 651 for turf establishment and the 2019 Vermont Standards and Specifications for Erosion Prevention and Sediment Control. A mandatory pre-bid site visit is scheduled for October 2, 2026, at 3:00 pm, with final bids due via email to the owner and project engineer by October 20, 2026. Bidders must demonstrate experience by providing documentation for at least two similar river restoration projects and include a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise attestation. The project is subject to strict environmental windows, with rootwad harvesting permitted from November 1 to March 31 and instream work allowed from July 1 to October 1. Substantial completion of instream work is required by October 1, 2027, with final project completion due by November 30, 2027.
