Battalion Reconnaissance Uncrewed Aircraft Systems (UAS)

The U.S. Army Contracting Command – Redstone Arsenal is issuing a Call for Solutions under Commercial Solutions Opening W58RGZ-26-S-C001-003 to acquire commercially available Vertical Take-Off and Landing Uncrewed Aircraft Systems for Battalion-level Reconnaissance, Surveillance, and Target Acquisition missions. This effort supports the Army’s modernization goals in Multi-Domain Operations and the Department of Defense’s strategic objective of Drone Dominance by leveraging innovative commercial technologies rather than custom development. The system must be a Group 2 VTOL UAS with autonomous flight capabilities, capable of operating in all weather conditions and at night, with a minimum range of 40 km, five hours of endurance, and dual payload capacity including EO/IR, communications relay, lethal effects, and electronic warfare modules. All systems must meet strict mandatory requirements outlined in Attachment 2, including weight limits, tool-free assembly, and resilience against APNT degradation. Proposals must be submitted as a single unclassified whitepaper not exceeding ten pages in 12-point Arial font, with a total file size under 10MB, via email by the deadline of May 6, 2026. Award will be made through a best-value tradeoff process where technical solution and production capability are jointly more important than price. Offerors must demonstrate compliance with all 20 mandatory system characteristics and prove the ability to produce at least 20 complete systems per 30-day cycle. Price will be evaluated for reasonableness but will not be the deciding factor. Additional mandatory requirements include active SAM.gov registration with a UEI and CAGE code, a current NIST SP 800-171 assessment in SPRS, and compliance with DFARS 252.204-7019 and NIST SP 800-171 for cybersecurity. Offerors must also comply with NDAA Section 848 by providing a full Bill of Materials and supply chain verification plan if any components originate from covered foreign countries, particularly China. Organizational conflicts of interest must be fully disclosed with a mitigation plan under FAR 9.5, and the Government requires enhanced data rights including Government Purpose Rights for interfaces and technical documentation to support training, sustainment, and repair. Deliveries will be made to CONUS and OCONUS locations under a Basic Ordering Agreement, with final inspection and acceptance occurring at the delivery destination using the Wide Area Workflow system for invoicing, and all packaging,
