Battery-NY is seeking a fully operational mixing equipment capable of handling up to 40 liters per batch for the production of battery electrode materials, including anode and cathode components. The equipment must be designed to prevent cross-contamination by having separate lines for anode and cathode materials, each equipped with specialized systems such as gloveboxes for dust-free storage, liquid dosing systems for precise transfer, mixers for homogeneous blending, and storage tanks for subsequent processing steps like coating. The system should incorporate advanced quality control features, including particulate filtration, oxygen depletion, NMP and dew point monitoring, with data logging and tracking capabilities to ensure traceability of materials throughout the process. The equipment must be installed and tested to meet User Acceptance Test (UAT) requirements before the specified deadline, ensuring seamless integration with downstream processes such as reel-to-reel coating. The project emphasizes strict adherence to safety standards and process requirements, with particular attention to differences in equipment specifications for cathode lines, including potential ATEX considerations. The contract is set to be awarded by July 8, 2025, with the work to be completed upon delivery, and is located in Broome County, NY, at 10 Gannett Drive, Johnson City. The solicitation is issued by the Research Foundation of the State University of New York, with a project value estimated between 5 and 10 million dollars.

Battery-NY is seeking equipment capable of mixing wet, semi-dry, or dry anode and cathode materials forbattery electrode manufacturing, with a single batch capacity of up to 40 l. To prevent cross-contamination,materials will be prepared and mixed on separate anode and cathode lines, with each line typicallyconsisting of the following:? Glovebox system – Ensures dust-free storage, dosing, and weighing of dry powder materials.? Liquid storage and dosing system(s) – Ensures localized storage and precise, controlled transfer ofliquids into the mixing vessel.? Mixer – Facilitates efficient and thorough mixing of dry powders and liquids, resulting in ahomogeneous mix.? Storage tanks and transfer station – Used for storage, agitation, and transfer of mixed materials tosubsequent processes, such as coating.? Particulate filtration, oxygen depletion, NMP and dew point monitoring systems – Ensures captureof airborne particulates, detection of gases and NMP, and measurement of dew point at key areas. The mixing lines will include a suite of quality control equipment and log key process and quality data to adata storage system via an IT interface. Incoming materials are to be scanned, while outgoing mixes willreceive a unique identifier for tracking and tracing purposes. The main requirements are summarized in thefollowing sections. The machine must be fully installed and operational, with the UAT (User Acceptance Test) completed on orbefore the date specified in Section 1. This will facilitate the seamless completion of all upstream anddownstream process activities within the planned timeframe, ensuring the provision of necessary materialsfor subsequent activities. For instance, slurries produced by the mixing lines are required to test the follow-on reel-to-reel coating equipment. Any project delays must be avoided, as they will impact downstreamprocesses and ultimately the final project completion date.Note: Area rules, regulations, codes, and standards shall take precedence over these requirements, withthe purchaser informed in advance of any deviations.Sections 4.2 through 4.7 outline the main requirements for anode electrode mixing line. The cathode mixingline equipment is expected to be similar; however, any differences, such as ATEX requirements, should beclearly highlighted in the bidder’s proposal Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Set Aside: No Minority Owned Sub-Contracting Goal: 0% Women Owned Sub-Contracting Goal: 0% Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Business Contracting Goal: 0% Disadvantaged Owned Sub-Contracting Goal: 0% Due date:07/08/2025 5:00 PM Bidder’s questions received by: 24 June 2025 by 17:00 EST Contract term: Upon Delivery County(ies): Broome Location: 10 Gannett Drive Johnson City, NY 13790 Business entities awarded an identical or substantially similar procurement contract within the past five years: N/A
