AI Contract Overview
The State of Utah Division of Purchasing, on behalf of Wildlife Resources, is soliciting bids for the Triangle Uplands Mastication project in Grand County. This project focuses on wildfire hazard reduction and vegetation management by removing pinyon and juniper trees to create a mosaic pattern of varying densities. The work requires the use of bullhog-type equipment, specifically rubber-tracked or rubber-tired machines with GPS capabilities, to meet strict stump height and fuel bed depth specifications. The contract consists of a base requirement of 1,100.3 acres with an additional optional acreage of 527.1 acres. Participation is strictly limited to prequalified contractors on the current Pre-approved/Pre-qualified Vendor list. The project is scheduled for performance between October 9, 2026, and February 28, 2027, and the selected vendor must guarantee pricing through the completion of the project. While no mandatory site visit is provided, bidders are strongly encouraged to inspect the site independently. The contract will be awarded to the lowest cost responsive and responsible vendor, and future eligibility for the Rangeland Pre-Qualification list will be contingent upon a performance evaluation scoring at least 60 percent.
