The contract involves the procurement of cylindrical roller bearings (NSN 3110-01-009-9823) that are configuration controlled and specifically manufactured for part number 30102 by an approved source, Barden Corporation. These bearings are critical for use in various aircraft engines such as the TF33-PW-102, TF33-P-3/5/9, and TF33-100 models. The contract specifies inspection and acceptance at origin with FOB destination terms, and a delivery timeframe of 214 days after receipt of order. Although the item is designated as critical application with higher-level quality and assurance requirements, it is not categorized as a critical safety item. The contract will be awarded through a Request For Proposal (RFP) issued on December 30, 2011, and will be an indefinite quantity contract (IQC) with one base year plus four option years. Quantities are defined with a guaranteed minimum of 34 units and a maximum annual contract quantity of 201 units, focusing on sustainment rather than surge needs. This procurement is managed as a DLA direct stock item and will require compliance with certain defense regulations, including DFARS Clause [phone hidden], and necessitates a subcontracting plan. The solicitation will be unrestricted but conducted under other than full and open competition, with award decisions based on a combination of price, past performance, and other evaluation criteria. The solicitation documents will be available exclusively through the DIBBS website in PDF format, and no paper copies will be provided. Point of contacts for the acquisition process are available within the Defense Logistics Agency for interested vendors to coordinate further details or inquiries.
