Branham Lake Dam Reconstruction on the Madison Ranger District Project Location: The project is located at the Branham Lakes developed recreation site at the end of Forest Road #111, approximately 13 miles east of Sheridan, MT; T4S, R3W, S3. Scope of Contract: The work of this contract consists of breaching Lower Branham Lake Dam, reconstructing the existing stream channel above Lower Branham Dam, and making improvements to the Upper Branham Lake Dam. The improvements to Upper Branham Lake Dam include clearing and grubbing woody vegetation from the dam and within 25 ft downstream, installing a toe drain in the dam embankment, adding embankment material conserved from the Lower Branham excavation to the downstream face, and adding rip rap conserved from the Lower Branham Dam to the upstream face.
