Bio Tek Maintenance Agreement

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, National Center for Environmental Health intends to award a sole source firm-fixed price maintenance agreemen (Base Year and 4 Option Years) to Bio Tek Instruments, Inc. 100 Tigan Street, Winooski, VT 05404-1356. The equipment to be repaired is the Bio Tek Synergy H4. The statutory authority for this sole source acquisition is U.S.C. 2304 (c) (1) in accordance with FAR Part 6.302-1 only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy the agency requirements. The NAICS code for this procurement is 811219 Other Electronic and Precision Equipment Repair and Maintenance. This sole source acquisition is required because Bio Tek is the only company able to provide field service for the Synergy H4 that is currently used in our laboratory. Attempting to utilize any other source other than Bio Tek for maintenance or service on the instrument would compromise the integrity of the instrument. Due to Bio Tek being the manufacturers of the Synergy H4, their technicians are properly trained on instrument maintenance. No other company at this time has the experience needed to complete field service on the Synergy H4 or any other Bio Tek instrumentation. No solicitation will be posted to FedBizOpps. This notice of intent is not a request for quote. A determination by the government not to compete the proposed purchase order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Contracting Officer. Interested parties who believe they possess the capability to satisfy this requirement should submit a capability statement demonstrating their ability to meet the requirement. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
