Bob Jones Pathway (San Luis Obispo to Ontario Road)

The Bob Jones Trail Octagon Barn to Cloverridge Lane Project - North Section is a construction initiative led by the San Luis Obispo County Department of Public Works. The project involves the development of an approximately 1.04-mile-long Class I trail segment extending from Buckley Road near the Octagon Barn south to Clover Ridge Lane. Performance is scheduled to take place at seven specific locations within San Luis Obispo Creek along South Higuera Street, situated east of Highway 101 and southwest of the City of San Luis Obispo city limits. Key construction activities include vegetation removal, culvert and bridge construction, culvert extension, retaining wall construction, and general trail installation. The project is governed by Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement EPIMS-SLO-49481-R4, executed by the California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) in accordance with Fish and Game Code section 1602. A Notice of Determination issued on November 12, 2025, confirms that the project will not have significant environmental effects within the jurisdiction of the CDFW, provided that specific mitigation measures and an adopted Mitigation Reporting or Monitoring Plan are strictly followed. The County of San Luis Obispo serves as the lead agency, with William Fox acting as the primary point of contact for administration, while Jim Kitch of the CDFW serves as the environmental scientist contact.
