The contract calls for the provision of manual girdling and brushing services over approximately 69.8 hectares within the Seaward-tlasta Business Area. It requires personnel with significant experience in these manual forestry techniques, especially under the physically demanding and variable environmental conditions typical of the Pacific Northwest Coast of British Columbia. Contract work will be scheduled to align with quarterly targets of the business area and multiple projects are expected to be executed concurrently following an approved work progress plan. Specific operational requirements are detailed in accompanying schedules and other conditions tied to the operational services contract. Tender submissions must adhere to the specified terms and conditions, with questions to be submitted in writing by February 11, 2026, and responses published shortly after. Certain bid deposit types such as cash or certified cheques are not permitted for electronic bidding. The contract selection is not solely price-based, as the lowest bid may not necessarily be accepted. The agreement also incorporates recent updates to British Columbia Timber Sales’ Environmental Management System and Sustainable Forest Management programs, which include new training obligations and procedural changes intended to comply with the 2022 Sustainable Forestry Initiative Forest Management Standard. Supervisors and workers must familiarize themselves with these updated environmental and safety protocols prior to commencing work. Unverified and awarded bid results will be accessible through BC Bid. Additional guidance and notices are available on the official BC Timber Sales website.
