Full Description

The Brea Olinda Unified School District proposes to replace and upgrade existing school and athletic facilities to enhance accessibility, safety, and overall functionality at the Brea Olinda High School campus. The proposed project would not increase student capacity or affect other existing facilities onsite. Improvements include replacing the football stadium's natural grass field with artificial turf, replacing the existing gymnasium flooring, resurfacing the track, upgrading lighting, relocating and replacing the stadium scoreboard, and installing new restroom and team facilities. The proposed project would also reconstruct the pool and provide associated support buildings, relocate and improve pool bleachers, repair baseball and softball dugout roofs, and relocate one tennis court adjacent to the existing tennis courts. Campus-wide improvements include new signage, trash enclosures, lighting, Wi-Fi and audio-visual upgrades, hillside stabilization landscaping, and accessibility improvements (e.g., new pathways, ramps, fencing, gate access points, and parking lot upgrades). Some ornamental trees would be removed, but the overall campus circulation network would remain unchanged. The beneficiaries of the proposed project would be the students and staff at the Brea Olinda High School.
