Bangor University is seeking a security contractor to supplement its internal team and maintain a safe, welcoming environment. The scope of work consists of two primary components: a daily SIA licensed security presence at the University Arts Centre (Pontio) and the provision of ad-hoc SIA licensed staff for events, covering roles such as traffic management, static guarding, stewarding, and door supervision. The contract is estimated at 325,000 GBP excluding VAT for an initial three-year term, running from January 4, 2027, to January 3, 2030, with an option to extend for two additional 12-month periods. Performance will be monitored through bimonthly reviews. Qualified bidders must provide SIA accreditation and staff fluent in both Welsh and English. Financial requirements include an annual turnover of approximately 100,000 GBP, an acid test ratio of 1:1 or greater, and insurance coverage of 5 million GBP for both employer and public liability. The award will be determined based on a weighted evaluation of technical responses at 60 percent and commercial pricing at 40 percent.
