Buck Road/Warren Road Resurfacing

The Riverside County Transportation Department is initiating the Buck/Warren Road Resurfacing Project, identified by Work Order ZD10063C and Task Code Z1530. The project involves resurfacing approximately 6,300 feet of a two-lane, 26-foot wide Mountain Arterial roadway located in the Communities of Rancho California and French Valley. The work area extends from the intersection of Buck Road and Rancho California Road in the south to the intersection of Warren Road and Borel Road in the north. The scope of work includes grinding existing asphalt concrete in place, moisture conditioning and recompacting material, and paving with hot mix asphalt. Additional improvements consist of reconstructing asphalt concrete dikes, partial resurfacing of abutting streets, constructing new driveways, placing safety edges and shoulder backing, adjusting utility valve cans, re-striping the roadway with new pavement markers and reflectors, and replacing existing signage. All improvements will remain within the existing roadway footprint without raising the profile or requiring additional right-of-way or temporary construction easements. Environmental compliance is a critical component of this project, which has been granted a Notice of Exemption under Section 15301(c) of the California Environmental Quality Act as it pertains to the maintenance of existing facilities. All activities must adhere to the Best Management Practices of the WRMSHCP. Furthermore, if vegetation removal occurs during the migratory bird breeding season between February 1 and September 1, preconstruction nesting surveys must be conducted in accordance with the Migratory Bird Treaty Act of 1918 and specific California Fish and Game Codes.
