THE PURPOSE OF THIS REQUIREMENT IS TO REPAIR BY REPLACEMENT THE 3RD STORY ROOF OF THE U.S. ARMY GARRISON RFTA BUILDING 668. THE EXISTING 3RD STORY ROOF OF BUILDING 668 CONSISTS OF EXISTING ASPHALT SHINGLE ROOFING WITH UNKNOWN UNDERLAYMENT SUPPORTED BY A LOW-PITCH PLYWOOD DECK SHEETING. THE BUILT-UP ROOFING IS TO BE REMOVED AND REPLACED WITH AN ASPHALT SHINGLE ROOF. EXISTING LIGHTNING PROTECTION IS TO BE REMOVED AND REINSTALLED UPON COMPLETION OF THE NEW ROOFING SYSTEM.
