The DoDDS-Europe Procurement Division contemplates award of a fixed price performance-based contract for a 1-year base period and four, 1-year option periods pursuant to Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12 procedures for commercial items. The proposed acquisition is intended to provide a turn-key operation for an emergency notification and locator system for buses operating in the European and Asian theaters whereby, on demand, the system would send a signal to monitoring stations indicating an alarm and location of the vehicle affected. The solicitation (Request for Proposals (RFP)) will be issued on or after 18 Feb 2009 on an open market, unrestricted, competitive basis. The closing date for receipt of proposals will be set forth in the RFP and is anticipated to be from 2-4 weeks after date of issuance. Upon release, the RFP will be made available electronically at http://www.fbo.gov. All responsible sources may submit an offer that will be considered.
