The National Highway Transportation Safety Administration (NHTSA) is conducting market research through a Sources Sought Synopsis to identify qualified small and small disadvantaged businesses capable of performing Static Stability Factor (SSF) Testing on approximately 100 model year 2009 light vehicles, including cars, pickups, SUVs, and vans. This effort focuses on obtaining precise center-of-gravity height measurements to assess rollover resistance, using vehicle models largely aligned with those chosen for the 2009 New Car Assessment Program (NCAP) crash tests. The work will involve procuring test vehicles and conducting evaluations under specified loading configurations, including driver-only and, at NHTSA’s discretion, five-occupant loading. No solicitation is currently available, and requests for solicitation will not be responded to. Interested parties are encouraged to submit capability statements or relevant information by the specified deadline to the designated Small Business Specialist, Lloyd S. Blackwell. This initiative, categorized under NAICS code 541330, supports NHTSA’s goal of providing consumers with comparative rollover safety data, thereby enhancing vehicle safety information. The contract will be managed through NHTSA’s Office of Acquisition within the Department of Transportation, located in Washington, D.C.
