The Department of Veterans Affairs Network Contracting Office 2 plans to award a sole source contract to Miller-Remick, LLC for Construction Period Services related to the replacement of high voltage switchgear at the St. Albans facility. This contract covers services required for construction administration including submittal reviews, RFIs, site inspections, and preparation of as-built drawings based on the original design documents prepared by Miller-Remick, LLC. The work will be performed at the Margaret Cochran Corbin Medical Center in Manhattan, with the performance period extending from the award date through the completion of the construction project. The decision to sole source this contract is based on the belief that no other firm can provide the required services in a timely and practical manner, given Miller-Remick’s prior involvement in the initial design phase. Interested parties were invited to submit capabilities statements by January 31, 2023, to express interest, though this notice is not a solicitation for competitive proposals. The government retains discretion over whether to compete the contract based on received responses. The contract is expected to be a firm-fixed-price type and will rely on licensed engineering expertise to support various disciplines including architectural, mechanical, electrical, and structural services. The Contracting Officer for this action is Jean M. Paul, who manages communications regarding this award.
