The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has awarded a delivery order containing a Brand Name description under an existing contract. The following equipment was purchased for Customer Account Data Engine (CADE2) production support. Direct Access Storage Device (DASD) upgrades, and upgrades to data replication software and software tools to administer data replication both internally and remotely to support known CADE 2 disaster recovery needs. At Martinsburg, WV (ECC-MTB) an IBM DS8800 Storage Array in the IBM production complex required an additional 80 Terabytes (TB) of IBM DS8800 Storage, and its associated software. At Memphis, TN ( ECC-MEM) an IBM disaster recovery complex requires additional 30 TB of IBM DS8800 Storage, and it's associated software This synopsis is a notice of an award under other than full and open competition and should not be considered a request for competitive proposals. The determination of the Government not to open subject requirement to full and open competition was made in accordance with FAR 5.303-1 and 41 U.S.C.253(c)(1) and is solely at the discretion of the Government. The Justification for Other Than Full and Open Competition (JOFOC) is attached.
