The Cambria Community Healthcare District is undertaking a phased partial demolition and reconstruction of an ambulance station located at 2515 Main Street in Cambria, California. This project, identified as C-DRC2025-00032 / ED26-0063, is situated within the North Coast Planning Area of the Coastal Zone and falls under the Public Facilities land use category. The construction is structured in two phases to ensure that administrative and crew functions remain operational throughout the process. Phase 1 involves the creation of a 4,300-square-foot facility featuring 1,621 square feet of ambulance bay area for four emergency vehicles with direct Main Street access, 1,279 square feet of administrative space, and 1,350 square feet of employee living quarters. Phase 2 encompasses the demolition of remaining existing facilities and the completion of site improvements, including landscaping, a return driveway, public and staff parking, and the installation of an emergency generator. The project is managed by the San Luis Obispo County Department of Planning and Building, with Dane Mueller serving as the lead agency contact. It has been granted a Categorical Exemption under CEQA Guidelines Section 15302 for replacement or reconstruction, following approval by the County of San Luis Obispo Board of Supervisors on June 19, 2026. Key environmental and regulatory compliance measures include a Biological Resources Assessment for Monterey Pine protection, a Phase 1 Archaeological Resources Assessment, and a requirement to replace one removed Oak Tree at a 6:1 ratio. The completed facility is designed to support approximately seven employees and responders.
