The Department of Natural Resources Canada, on behalf of the Canadian Council of Forest Ministers, has a requirement to provide a bilingual forestry-specific online community platform that supports the dissemination and utilization of knowledge, tools and practices to advance climate adaptation in sustainable forest management in Canada. This practitioner community, called the Forestry Adaptation Network, aims to build capacity and relationships to support climate change adaptation action through increased awareness, participation and sharing of information, experiences and support. The objective of the work is to develop and grow the community by increasing membership and engagement, finding synergies with forest organizations and identifying key needs of the target audiences and tailor efforts to reach and serve practioners. Specific tasks include: • Launch and maintain the bilingual online workspace that includes the following functions: membership profiles, discussion board, resource library, event calendar, and monthly newsletters to members. • Develop and implement a membership engagement and recruitment plan including (i) onboarding support (ii) outreach materials including a showcase slide desk and (iii) one virtual event annually designed to engage members, strengthen knowledge exchange, and demonstrate the value of the Forestry Adaptation Network (FAN) as a collaborative community of practice. • Provide a virtual dashboard to track the health and vitality of the network.
