Meadowlands Sustainment
Solicitation # FA8819(10-2026)
The Space Systems Command, located at Los Angeles Air Force Base, is conducting market research through a Sources Sought notice to identify capable contractors for the sustainment of the Counter Communications System (CCS) Meadowlands. This effort involves the technical, logistical, software, and hardware support for a geographically dispersed fleet of up to 56 systems operating across the UHF, L, C, Ku, and KA RF bands. The scope of work includes organizational, intermediate, and depot-level maintenance, supply chain management for obsolescence and spares, and comprehensive software sustainment including cybersecurity remediation and configuration control. The systems are deployed across USCENTCOM and USPACOM, with additional support requirements for EUCOM, SOUTHCOM, and NORTHCOM. The government is considering a firm-fixed-price contract structure with potential performance incentives based on metrics such as mission-effective system-hours. The envisioned period of performance is approximately six years, consisting of a one-year base period and five option years. Due to the nature of the work, contractors must be capable of operating within secure facilities at various security levels, including Secret, TS/SCI, and SAP F. While currently listed with no set-aside, the government reserves the right to set the acquisition aside for small businesses, including woman-owned and socially disadvantaged firms. Interested parties must submit a Statement of Capabilities by November 18, 2026, detailing their technical approach to mission effectiveness, workforce surge capacity, and transition continuity.

The Secretary of the Air Force has established seven new operational imperatives, major focus areas for the Department of the Air Force in 2022: Defining Resilient Space Order of Battle and Architectures (defensive and offensive) Achieving Operationally-Optimized Advanced Battle Management System (ABMS) / Air Force Joint All Domain Command and Control Defining the Next Generation Air Dominance System of Systems (air moving target indication, other sensors, communications, command & control, weapons, and uncrewed aerial vehicles) Achieving Moving Target Engagement at Scale (air, sea surface and ground mobile targets) Defining Optimized Resilient Basing, Sustainment, and Communications in a Contested Environment Evaluating Readiness of the DAF to Transition to a Wartime Posture Against a Peer Competitor Defining the B-21 Long Range Strike Family of Systems The above imperatives will set the tone for the United States Space Force's (USSF's) future. Senior leaders across the USSF have been appointed as operational and acquisition leads for each imperative to perform analysis within an aggressive timeline to generate FY24 POM recommendations for the Secretary by the end of March 2022. This RFI supports the analysis for ONE of these imperatives, specifically OI #6 (Evaluating Readiness of the DAF to Transition to Wartime Posture Against a Peer Competitor), to inform future budget and program decisions. Additional separate RFI's may be issued in support of other imperatives. Where possible, the USSF would like to understand within your responses how your technology and operational concepts for this imperative could enable, connect, and contribute across all 7 imperatives. The USSF would also like to understand the scalability and adaptability of your proposed concepts. Kronos Family of Systems Commercial Solutions Opening
Solicitation # FA8806-26-S-0001
The Kronos Family of Systems Commercial Solutions Opening (CSO), solicitation FA8806-26-S-0001, is a competitive effort by Space Systems Command to acquire innovative commercial products, technologies, and services. The program focuses on deploying, securing, and sustaining mission infrastructure to enhance operational agility and resiliency, particularly under contested or limited bandwidth conditions. Key technical areas of interest include cloud and edge integration, AI/ML, zero-trust cybersecurity, DevSecOps, and containerized workload orchestration. The government utilizes a rolling solicitation structure where specific Calls are issued for various Areas of Interest (AOIs), each with its own submission deadline and evaluation timeline. The acquisition process is phased, beginning with Phase 1A submissions consisting of a quad chart and a five-page white paper. Selected offerors may proceed to a Phase 1B pitch session and subsequently a Phase II full proposal, which must include a detailed statement of work, a pricing model in Excel format, and an Organizational Conflict of Interest mitigation plan. Awards may be granted as FAR-based fixed-price contracts or Other Transaction Agreements (OTAs) for prototype projects, with a typical prototype demonstration window of approximately six months. Evaluation is conducted via subject-matter expert peer review focusing on government interest, technical validity, innovation, and vendor viability rather than a lowest-price basis. All submissions must be unclassified and submitted through the Kronos Gateway or as specified in individual Calls.
