CASF, Surfnet Communications, Inc. Central Coast Fiber Broadband Project

The California Public Utilities Commission has authorized the Central Coast Fiber Broadband Project, which provides Surfnet Communications, Inc. with up to 24,006,763 dollars in grant funding from the California Advanced Services Fund Infrastructure Account. This initiative aims to expand high-speed internet access by constructing a fiber-to-the-home network capable of delivering 1,000 Mbps symmetric download and upload speeds. The project is designed to serve 927 unserved locations across four California counties, including Monterey, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, and San Luis Obispo. This effort aligns with the CASF program's goals, which were established in 2008 to improve broadband deployment throughout the state.
