In compliance with D.22-11-023, Staff determined that the Central Coast Fiber Broadband Project is eligible to receive up to $24,006,763 in CASF Infrastructure Account grant funding. Surfnet Communications, Inc. proposes to serve 927 unserved locations by constructing a FTTH network with up to 1,000 Megabits per second (Mbps) download and 1,000 Mbps upload in Monterey, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, and San Luis Obispo Counties. The California Advanced Services Fund (CASF) program was initiated in 2008, after the program was first adopted by the Commission in Decision (D.) 07-12-054 and enacted into statute pursuant to Senate Bill (SB) 1193.
