AI Contract Overview
Broward County is soliciting a vendor to provide daily delivery of three hot meals—breakfast, lunch, and dinner—for approximately 40 to 50 clients at the Broward Addiction Recovery Center (BARC) in Fort Lauderdale. The selected vendor must deliver meals Monday through Sunday within specific time windows: breakfast from 6:00 am to 6:30 am, lunch from 9:30 am to 10:00 am, and dinner from 2:30 pm to 3:00 pm. All meals must be nutritious, adhere to National and 2025-2030 Dietary Guidelines for Americans (targeting 2000-2600 calories), and be delivered in standard 12 by 20 inch stainless steel steam table pans. The vendor is responsible for providing weekly menus in advance, managing therapeutic diets and allergy-specific meals separately, and maintaining strict temperature controls according to Florida and Broward County Health Department standards. Additionally, the vendor must be capable of delivering a ten-day supply of food within two business days during hurricane watches or warnings. The contract is awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible vendor. Requirements include being properly licensed and insured, providing passing inspection reports from the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services upon request, and complying with various federal and state regulations, including the Davis-Bacon Act, Build American Buy American (BABA) laws, and the Americans with Disabilities Act. Vendors must also adhere to Florida's Public Records Law and Broward County's criminal history screening ordinances. Administrative requirements include submitting monthly invoices via email to the County's Accounting Division and providing performance and payment bonds within ten days of the award. The County maintains the right to conduct unannounced inspections of the vendor's facilities and vehicles to ensure sanitary conditions and compliance with specifications.
