AI Contract Overview
The Department of Fisheries and Oceans requires a dry-docking refit for the CCGS Corporal Teather from November 7, 2022, to December 30, 2022. During this period, the vessel will be unmanned, out of commission, and under the care and control of the contractor. The procurement follows a competitive strategy based on the lowest bid and is subject to the Canadian Free Trade Agreement, though it is exempt from several other international trade agreements and the Canadian Content Policy. Due to the vessel's lack of ice class and forecasted winter conditions, sourcing is geographically limited to suppliers in Eastern Canada located outside of areas expected to contain ice, such as the St. Lawrence Seaway and the Gulf of St. Lawrence. Interested suppliers can obtain technical data from the Contracting Authority and are encouraged to submit bids electronically. There are no security requirements for this project, and the Crown maintains the right to negotiate with suppliers.
