Dated: 7/17/2026
Sealed bids, subject to the conditions contained herein, will be received by the City of Larned, Kansas, at the office of the City Clerk, 417 Broadway, Larned, KS 67550, until 11:00 a.m., Prevailing Time August 20, 2026 for the construction of K-156 from Corse Ave. to US-56 KDOT Project #156-73 U-2593-01. This project will include, but is not limited to the following major categories of work.
Milling 16,699 Sq. Yds.
HMA Commercial Grade (Class A) 1,816 Tons.
Pavement Markings 6,819 Lin. Ft.
Traffic Control 1 Lump Sum
At said time and place, and promptly thereafter, all Proposals that have been duly received will be publicly opened and read aloud.
Each bid shall be accompanied by a cashier's check, a certified check or a bid bond, payable to the City of Larned, Kansas, in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the total amount of the bid.
Each bidder to whom a contract for the work is awarded will be required to furnish a Contract Bond and a Payment Bond executed on the specified forms and acceptable to the City of Larned, Kansas, each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract. Plans and specifications are on file and may be examined, at the office of the City Clerk, 417 Broadway, Larned, Kansas, and at the offices of the Consulting Engineer, Alfred Benesch and Company, 2627 KFB Plaza, Suite 102W, Manhattan, Kansas.
Copies of plans and specifications can be seen or purchased for a non-refundable fee on-line at www.drexeltech.com in their eDistribution plan room. Information regarding this project can be found in the “Public Jobs” link on the www.drexeltech.com website. Additional assistance is available at distribution@drexeltech.com. Contractors desiring the paper copies of the contract documents may also obtain a set of such documents from Drexel Technologies: 10840 West 86th Street, Lenexa, KS 66214, 913-371-4430. Bidding documents will be shipped only if the requesting party assumes responsibility for all related charges. Corporate, certified, or cashier’s checks shall be made payable to Drexel Technologies, Inc.
No pre-bid meeting will be held for this project.
The City of Larned reserves the right to reject or accept any and all bids/proposals, to waive any irregularities in such bids/proposals, and to accept such bids/proposals that are the lowest and most responsive and best suits the City of Larned.
No bid shall be withdrawn for a period of forty-five (45) days subsequent to the opening of bids without the written consent of the City of Larned, Kansas.
