The objective is to identify vendors capable of providing untrained single-purpose detection canines to the Border Patrol Canine Academy (BPK9) in El Paso, Texas, and the Field Operations Canine Academy (FOK9) in Front Royal, Virginia. This RFI is for planning purposes only and does not constitute a formal request for proposals or a commitment to contract. Behaviorally, canines must demonstrate high prey and retrieve drives and a stable temperament. The contractor will be responsible for all transportation costs and must adhere to a six-month warranty for pre-existing conditions or behavioral issues.
