Full Description

The Tarrant Regional Water District (TRWD) Cedar Creek Section 2 Phase 2 Pipeline Replacement Project consists of the replacement of approximately 4.4 miles of existing 72-inch prestressed concrete cylinder pipe (PCCP) with new welded steel raw water transmission pipeline ranging in size from 72-inch to 102-inch diameter. The pipeline extends from Mouser Way to the Kennedale Balancing Reservoir in southeast Tarrant County, Texas. Construction activities will occur within the existing 130-foot-wide TRWD easement, which also contains a parallel 90-inch PCCP pipeline. The Work includes installation of the new transmission main using both open-cut and trenchless construction methods. Appurtenances include air release valves (ARVs), blow-off valves (BOVs), and butterfly valves (BFVs), as well as all necessary connections to existing facilities. Additional scope includes roadway and utility crossings, and the abandonment or removal of existing pipeline facilities as required. Trenchless construction consists of two new tunnel installations and the reuse of one existing casing for crossings at Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) and Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR) rights-of-way. These installations will utilize steel casing, tunnel liner plate systems, and an existing 108-inch reinforced concrete casing pipe where applicable.
