CEQA Determination for Steeplechase Drive Reconstruction (Project# 801 0107)

The City of Moreno Valley is initiating the Steeplechase Drive Reconstruction project, identified as Project 801 0107, located in Moreno Valley, California. The scope of work involves the removal of existing median landscaping, trees, and deteriorated pavement, followed by the reconstruction of the roadway from Ironwood Avenue to Kalmia Avenue. Key deliverables include a new median with updated landscape and hardscape features, as well as the installation of concrete curbs and gutters on both sides of the roadway to improve drainage. All work is to be performed within the existing public right-of-way without expanding street capacity. This project is currently in the forecast stage and has been determined to be categorically exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act under Section 15301(d) for existing facilities. A Notice of Exemption has been filed with the State Clearinghouse and the Riverside County Clerk, and a No Effect Determination has been issued by the California Department of Fish and Wildlife.
