AI Contract Overview
The Department of Labor's Bureau of Labor Statistics, through its Producer Price Index Program Office, has issued a Request for Information (RFI) under solicitation number OAA-26-00299 to gather market intelligence on potential subscription services that can provide aggregated, current-month wholesale price data for chicken eggs and select seafood products including tuna, shrimp, crabs, lobster, clams, oysters, sea scallops, and mussels. The goal is to assess industry capabilities to deliver volume-weighted average prices collected over the first 14 days of each month, segmented by region and specific product characteristics, to support the accurate calculation of PPI indexes. This RFI is explicitly non-binding and does not constitute a solicitation for proposals or a commitment to award a contract; no payments will be made to respondents, and all information submitted is voluntary and solely for market research purposes under FAR 15.201(e). Responses must be submitted via email to DeCarlo Coleman by 10:00 AM EST on May 18, 2026, in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format and must not exceed 30 pages with 1-inch margins and 11- or 12-point Times New Roman font. Submitters are required to include a cover letter with basic contact information and must identify their business size status and any applicable socioeconomic classifications such as small business, woman-owned, HUBZone, or service-disabled veteran-owned small business, though no Unique Entity ID or CAGE code is required. The government will evaluate submissions for relevance only, with the possibility of inviting certain respondents to further demonstrate capabilities, but there are no formal evaluation factors, award criteria, or contract administration details provided because this is a pre-solicitation information-gathering tool. All performance is assumed to occur remotely with data submission directed to the agency’s office in Washington, DC, and no packaging, invoicing, payment office, or delivery terms apply since no contract will result from this notice.
