THE SUPERVISOR OF SHIPBUILDING CONVERSION AND REPAIR NEWPORT NEWS VIRGINIA, INTENDS TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE PURCHASE ORDER/CONTRACT TO:Q.E.D SYSTEMS, INC., 911 LIVE OAK DRIVE, SUITE 106, CHESAPEAKE, VA 23320 FOR THE CHEMICAL CLEANING (RYDLYME) OF CHT PIPING SYSTEM ZONE 12 ONBOARD THE USS HARRY S. TRUMAN (CVN 75). THIS PURCHASE WAS AWARDED UNDER SIMPLIFIED ACQUISITION PROCEDURES AND OTHER THAN FULL AND OPEN COMPETITION AS AUTHORIZED UNDER FAR 6.302-1. THE AWARD DATE IS ANTICIPATED TO BE MAY 30, 2003. THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTATION. NO SOLICITATION DOCUMENT IS AVAILABLE AND TELEPHONE OR FAX OR E-MAIL REQUESTS WILL NOT BE HONORED. NO CONTRACT WILL BE AWARDED ON THE BASIS OF OFFERS RECEIVED IN RESPONSE TO THIS NOTICE. A DETERMINATION NOT TO COMPETE THIS PURCHASE BASED ON THIS NOTICE IS WITHIN THE DISCRETION OF THE GOVERNMENT. RESPONSES TO THIS NOTICE, IF ANY , MUST SHOW CLEAR AND CONVINCING EVIDENCE THAT COMPETITION WOULD BE ADVANTAGEOUS TO THE GOVERNMENT IN FUTURE ACTIONS.
