The City of Calgary is seeking a vendor to collect scrap metal from its various locations and recycle it in accordance with applicable standards for environmentally safe recycling. The City is seeking a qualified service provider(s) for the collection and processing of scrap metal at City landfills (Spyhill, East Calgary, and Shepard) and various City Locations. Collection services will be initiated by the City based on operational demand and may occur at any time as required, including on-site or off site loading, hauling, processing, recycling, and disposal of residual material. The work under this RFP is divided into three (3) schedules: • Schedule A: Scrap Metal - City Landfills (Spyhill, East Calgary, and Shepard) • Schedule B: Scrap Metal - Various City Locations • Schedule C: Bus Bodies The City’s goals for these services are to maximize landfill diversion and recoup operating costs from sale of collected scrap metal. This is a Revenue Contract for The City and it is estimated to generate around $3,100,000.00 in revenue for The City for the life of the contract - amount subject to change.
