City of Coalinga Sanitary Sewer Collection System and Wastewater Treatment Plant Improvements

The City of Coalinga is undertaking the Sanitary Sewer Collection System and Wastewater Treatment Plant Improvements project to ensure adequate sewer services through the rehabilitation and replacement of deteriorated infrastructure. The scope of work includes the trenchless rehabilitation of approximately 30,815 linear feet of gravity sewer mains and the conventional replacement of approximately 19,801 linear feet of gravity sewer mains, specifically targeting sections with severe offsets, blockages, or sags exceeding 60 percent of the pipe diameter. Additionally, the project involves miscellaneous repairs and operational improvements to the wastewater treatment plant located at 30500 Jayne Avenue. A Mitigated Negative Declaration was adopted on September 3, 2026, concluding that the project will not have a significant effect on the environment, provided specific mitigation measures for biological and cultural resources are implemented. Estimated project costs vary by alternative, with one comprehensive estimate totaling approximately 39.2 million dollars, which includes site work, pipelines, recycled water piping, and contingency fees. Construction is expected to last approximately one year, with various phases including grading, excavation, and paving scheduled through 2027.
