City of Inglewood General Plan Update

The City of Inglewood is undertaking a comprehensive General Plan Update to extend the city's planning horizon to 2050, replacing the previous comprehensive update from 1987. This initiative aims to meet all state requirements and encompasses nine key elements: Circulation, Conservation, Economic Development, Environmental Justice, Housing, Land Use, Noise, Open Space, and Safety. As part of this process, the city is preparing a Draft Program Environmental Impact Report to evaluate the foreseeable environmental effects associated with the updated Land Use Plan and the goals and policies of the General Plan. The project is being managed by the City of Inglewood with support from the consulting firm PlaceWorks. It adheres to the California Environmental Quality Act, specifically following State CEQA Guidelines Section 15060(d) and Section 15082. A public review period was established from September 15, 2026, to October 15, 2026, to gather agency and public comments. The primary point of contact for the project is Senior Planner Raneika Brooks, and the performance area covers approximately 9.1 square miles within the County of Los Angeles.
