Civic Center Park Landscaping and Facility Improvements

Civic Center Park is a major public recreational and civic space located adjacent to Palm Desert City Hall. The park contains a variety of recreational amenities, landscaped areas, public facilities, and public art and remains actively used by residents and visitors throughout the year. Taffy is a recent addition to the Palm Desert Public Art Program. Formerly exhibited at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, the artwork is being leased to the City by Goldenvoice for display within Civic Center Park. The City has developed landscape, lighting, and site improvements intended to complement the artwork and enhance its visibility, accessibility, and surrounding visitor environment. In conjunction with these improvements, the Project includes renovations to designated restroom facilities and improvements to additional landscaped areas within Civic Center Park. Because the Work will occur within an active public park, the Contractor will be required to coordinate construction activities to maintain safe public access to unaffected portions of the park and minimize disruption to park operations, surrounding facilities, and visitors.
