NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is seeking innovative, technology-driven solutions to enhance the efficiency and patient experience of transport services within NHS Scotland, specifically focusing on renal services. With over 273,000 people living with Stage 3-5 Chronic Kidney Disease and a projected fivefold increase in demand over the next decade, there is an urgent need to modernize dialysis transport. Currently, these journeys represent more than 40 percent of all non-emergency patient transport activity and cost 9.1 million GBP annually, but inconsistent arrangements continue to place undue pressure on patients and healthcare providers. The objective of this solicitation is to identify sustainable, patient-centered interventions that improve reliability and patient outcomes while reducing administrative burdens and increasing overall value for money. By leveraging technology to streamline operations, the initiative aims to create a more consistent and efficient transport framework that can scale to meet the growing needs of the population.
