Request support for Indiana Geological & Water Survey (IGWS), Indiana University, to install a weather station at NSA Crane. Proposed location is at the running track and will require a 100 SF area for a weather monitoring station and a 20 SF area for an auxiliary station. The weather station requires a small concrete pad and fencing. The auxiliary station consists of a post with a small probe mounted on top. The weather station provides real-time (and historical) data including air temperature, soil temperature and moisture, solar radiation, relative humidity, precipitation, and wind speed and direction that may assist with operations on NSA Crane (e.g., demo range, UAS flying). There will be no cost to NSA Crane for the stations. All equipment will be owned by IGWS who is responsible for operations and maintenance.
