Coastal Development Permit 26-016/Conditional Use Permit 26-015 (PIER LANDMARK SIGN)

The City of Huntington Beach is issuing Coastal Development Permit 26-016 and Conditional Use Permit 26-015 to authorize the installation of a landmark sign at the entrance of the pier on Main Street. The sign will feature the text Welcome to Surf City USA® and will stand at an overall height of 26 feet. Located at 1 Main Street in California, the project is classified as an accessory structure and has been granted a Categorical Exemption under Class 11, Section 15317. Administrative oversight for the project is managed by Associate Planner Carolyn Camarena and VP of Administration and Community Engagement Nicole Llido. The project was formally processed with a Notice of Exemption signed on September 17, 2026, and posted as a forecast on September 18, 2026.
