The objective of this project is to engage a qualified consultant to conduct code analysis of provisions in the 2020 editions of the National Building Code (NBC), National Fire Code (NFC) and National Plumbing Code (NPC) with OS1 attributions in order to: 1. Identify inconsistencies between technical requirements and their intent statements in how emergency responder safety is considered; and 2. Identify technical requirements that should be linked to the new sub-objective OS6 for firefighter safety, as defined in PCF 1998. The end result is a report and presentations for consideration by the technical committee to inform the code development work intended for publication in the 2030 editions of the NBC, NFC and NPC.
