Colbert 19290 S. Harbor Drive (Project) (Notification of Lake or Streambed Alteration, No. EPIMS-MEN-68881-R1)

The California Department of Fish and Wildlife has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement EPIMS-MEN-68881-R1 with permittee Abbie Colbert for a project located in the Noyo River in Fort Bragg, Mendocino County. Pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code, the project is authorized for a single encroachment to perform a geotechnical boring to inform future dock, pier, and piling replacement and repair. The scope of work involves using a concrete core drill to create a 6-inch diameter hole through an existing concrete pad to insert a 2-inch drilling rod to a depth of up to 80 feet. If a tracked drill rig cannot be positioned on the concrete dock, the operation will be conducted from a barge. The project is granted a Class 6 Categorical Exemption under California Code of Regulations title 14, section 15306. To protect salmonids and green sturgeon, all in-water work must be performed within the NOAA approved work window from July 15 to October 15. The project is anticipated to be completed in one day. Administrative oversight is managed by Jennifer Garrison, Senior Environmental Scientist Specialist with the California Department of Fish and Wildlife.
