The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Florida Forest Service is soliciting sealed bids for the Coldwater 2026 Salvage Sale, involving the harvest of merchantable pine and hardwood timber damaged by Hurricane Isaias. The project is located within the SFI Certified Blackwater River State Forest in Santa Rosa County, Florida, covering a total area of 18,628 acres. Available products include salvage pine pulpwood, chip-n-saw, sawtimber, and hardwood pulpwood. While there is no volume estimate for the sale, the contract is set for a six-month duration, and the successful bidder must commence harvesting within 10 business days of contract execution. Harvesting operations must follow strict prioritization guidelines, with substantial damage areas being the highest priority. Additionally, approximately 1,727 acres surrounding red cockaded woodpecker clusters must be harvested by March 15, 2027. Because this sale is being advertised alongside the West Boundary and Wolfe Creek 2026 Salvage Sales, bidders winning multiple contracts must either prove they have the personnel and equipment to manage them simultaneously or forfeit all but one sale. Bids will be awarded to the highest acceptable bidder and must be submitted for opening on October 29, 2026, at 10:00 AM CDT in Milton, Florida.
