The Kansas City Commodity Office (KCCO) under the Farm Service Agency of the U.S. Department of Agriculture has issued a new Commodity Requirements Document (CRD) specifying the quality and purchase criteria for canned pink salmon intended for use in U.S. Government international food aid programs. This CRD, effective September 1, 2011, outlines detailed specifications for domestic origin canned pink salmon (CPS1) and is made available to interested parties via KCCO’s website. Although no active solicitation for canned pink salmon currently exists, the document serves as a reference for future procurement, ensuring that any upcoming solicitations will clearly identify this CRD as the applicable standard in compliance with federal acquisition regulations. The contract notice provides contact details for key KCCO personnel including an Agricultural Marketing Specialist and a Contracting Officer to assist with inquiries. The CRD is intended to guide potential suppliers in meeting the necessary technical and quality standards for canned pink salmon before any formal purchase solicitation is issued. This document is part of the agency's ongoing efforts to support international food aid initiatives by facilitating transparent and standardized procurement of essential food commodities.
