Community Coastal Expeditions

The Community Coastal Expeditions forecast, issued by the California State Coastal Conservancy, outlines a program where People's Self Help Housing will provide coastal activities for approximately 250 low-income participants from affordable and supportive housing properties in San Luis Obispo County. The initiative is designed to serve students, their families, and chaperones through a variety of inclusive experiences, including bilingual tidepool exploration, community picnics, beach walks, and cultural storytelling within bilingual reflection circles. Managed by the Central Coast Program Manager, the project focuses on providing restorative rest and unstructured play to enhance the well-being of the participants. The performance of these activities will take place within the state of California, aiming to bridge the gap in coastal access for underserved populations through educational and cultural engagement.
