The Community Connect Grant Program, administered directly by the Department of Agriculture, is a competitive discretionary grant initiative designed to expand broadband access in rural, economically challenged communities. The program provides financial assistance to eligible applicants who can deliver broadband services at or above specified grant speeds to all premises in areas where such services are currently unavailable. Funding is allocated for a variety of infrastructure and operational needs, including the construction, acquisition, or leasing of facilities, spectrum, land, and buildings. Additionally, grants may cover the costs of providing free broadband service and the development or expansion of community centers that offer public online access.
