Community Development Block Grant Fiscal Year 2025-2026 Americans with Disabilities (ADA) Wheelchair Access Ramp Replacement

The City of Orange is undertaking a project under the Community Development Block Grant for Fiscal Year 2025-2026 to replace existing wheelchair access ramps and associated infrastructure to ensure compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act. The scope includes the removal and installation of new sidewalk access ramps, curb and gutter systems, cross-gutters, spandrels, and asphalt concrete slot paving, along with required saw cutting, excavation, clearing, and grubbing. Subgrade preparation, horizontal curb cutting, and adjustments to traffic pull boxes are also part of the work. Detectable warning surfaces featuring truncated domes will be furnished and installed at multiple locations to assist pedestrians with visual impairments. Additionally, repairs and adjustments to the local sprinkler system will be performed to accommodate the infrastructure upgrades, and comprehensive traffic control measures will be implemented throughout the project duration to maintain public safety. All work is to be completed within the city limits of Orange, California.
