Comprehensive Update of the Canadian Grade Crossing Detailed Safety Assessment Guide

Transport Canada is seeking a contractor to review, revise, and enhance the 2005 Canadian Grade Crossing Detailed Safety Assessment Guide. The objective is to modernize the guide by incorporating current Canadian standards, regulatory requirements, and the latest safety technologies. The scope specifically includes integrating international best practices for risk assessments on high-speed railway lines exceeding 95mph, as well as current standards for road safety audits and crossing diagnostic reviews. This initiative aims to improve the identification and mitigation of safety risks at grade crossings, ensuring stakeholders can effectively manage safety and maintain compliance with federal regulations. The contract will remain in effect from the date of award until March 31, 2027, with performance centered in the National Capital Region.
