Construct Laredo, TX C29 Checkpoint

The project aims to expand and renovate the existing Laredo C29 Border Patrol Checkpoint on I-35 North at mile marker 29 in Laredo, Texas, increasing its capacity to 16 primary inspection lanes by adding nine new lanes to the seven currently in use. The scope includes acquiring necessary land through marketing surveys and purchasing property, leasing land from the Texas Department of Transportation, conducting a comprehensive traffic study, and completing an environmental assessment to ensure regulatory compliance. The effort will proceed through programming, design, and full construction of the expanded facility to support enhanced operational efficiency and border security demands. All work will be delivered under a Design-Build contract mechanism awarded competitively through the IDIQ framework, ensuring streamlined delivery and accountability from a single entity responsible for both design and construction phases.
