Construction, Engineering, and Inspection Services for Old Mission Road Safety Improvements (West Park Ave, to Josephine Street/10th Street)

The contract entails construction, engineering, and inspection services for safety improvements along a 1.84-mile stretch of Old Mission Road in Volusia County, from just south of West Park Avenue to Josephine Street/10th Street. This key urban collector road currently features a narrow two-lane rural section with limited shoulders and variable right-of-way widths between 100 and 150 feet. The project scope includes widening the pavement westward to create safer connections at intersections, installing two 11-foot travel lanes with 5-foot shoulders on both sides, and adding a concrete sidewalk on the east side of the road. Additionally, resurfacing and structural overbuild will be performed on both northbound and southbound lanes between the Church of Christ driveway and slightly north of Josephine Street. A portion of the existing roadway, from West Park Avenue to south of Eslinger Road, will be converted into a multi-use trail to improve pedestrian and bicycle safety.
