Construction of Smokehouse with Attached Game & Hide Processing Structure

The selected contractor will provide all labor, materials, equipment, and supervision necessary to complete the project. The contractor also will complete all necessary utilities, internet, and water line locates that may be associated with the project. The contractor will also be responsible for all permitting necessary and debris removal that may be required by local, state, tribal, and federal regulations. A. Smokehouse Construction  Design and build a small-to-medium sized smokehouse suitable for smoking fish  Include proper ventilation, draft control, and safe smoke flow  Install racks, poles, or hooks for hanging fish  Use fire-resistant and food-safe materials where applicable  Ensure structure is weather-resistant and durable B. Attached Game & Hide Processing Structure  Construct a covered, open-air or partially enclosed structure attached or adjacent to the smokehouse  Include strong overhead beams or rail system for hanging deer or large game  Provide designated hanging space for hides after scraping (September 2025) 6  Ensure adequate airflow for drying hides  Include protection from sun, rain, and animals while maintaining ventilation  Design for easy cleaning and sanitation (drainage or washable surfaces preferred) C. Site & Safety Requirements  Prepare and level site as needed  Ensure proper drainage around structure s  Comply with all applicable building, fire, and safety codes  Design must consider safe use around children and supervised educational activities D. Cultural Design Consideration  Incorporate traditional or culturally appropriate design elements when possible  Collaborate with program staff and/or cultural advisors during design phase E.
