Construction of the Water Sewer Building

The Town of Mattapoisett Water and Sewer Department is soliciting sealed bids for the construction of a new Water and Sewer Department Building located at 15 Industrial Drive, Mattapoisett, Massachusetts. The project consists of a pre-engineered metal building with a 140 by 120 foot footprint, a gable roof, a low eave height of approximately 130 feet, and an attached 140 by 120 foot canopy. The scope of work includes all associated electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems, as well as comprehensive site work involving site clearing, foundation work, buried utilities for water, sanitary sewer, and natural gas, stormwater management controls, and the construction of a parking area, driveway, and staging area. All work must be completed within 600 consecutive calendar days from the date specified in the Notice to Proceed. The bidding process is conducted under Massachusetts General Law Chapter 149, Sections 44A-44J. Sealed filed sub-bids are due by 2:00 PM on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, and sealed general bids are due by 2:00 PM on Thursday, October 15, 2026, at the Water and Sewer Department Office at 19 County Road, Mattapoisett. General bidders must provide a DCAMM Certificate of Eligibility for General Building Construction and an Update Statement Form CQ3, while sub-bidders must provide the same certifications for their respective trades. Each bid must be accompanied by a bid security equal to 5 percent of the total bid amount. Additionally, the successful contractor will be required to provide performance and labor and materials payment bonds, each for 100 percent of the contract price.
